Submitted galleries are the heart of AutoGallery Pro, and it's main purpose is to accept, process, and display them. The main interface for other
webmasters to submit galleries to you is the submit.cgi script. You can also submit galleries manually through the control panel. The entire process
of submitting and managing galleries is covered in this document.
There are three ways to add galleries to the submitted database: through the submit.cgi script, through the control panel's manual submission form, and by
importing galleries from text files. This document will cover the first two. If you need information on importing galleries, see the
section of this manual.
The submit.cgi script is where all webmasters will submit their galleries. It can be used by anyone, including those who have a partner account
at your TGP. Submitting galleries through the submit.cgi script is very straightforward. All you need to do is fill in each of the form fields and
then press the Submit Gallery button. Each of the form fields is described below.
E-mail - this is the submitter's e-mail address where they can be reached
Name - this is the submitter's name or nickname, and is optional unless you specify otherwise
Password - if the submitter has a partner account, they should enter their password
Gallery URL - this is the full URL to the gallery they are submitting
Description - this is the description of the gallery they are submitting
Category - this is the category that best describes the gallery content
Number of Thumbs - this is the number of thumbnails on the gallery
Preview Thumb - this allows the submitter to upload a preview thumbnail
Submit Code - the submitter will need to copy the numbers from the image into this text box
Once the submit button has been pressed, a number of things will happen. First all of the form input fields will be checked to make sure that
they are properly formatted. The gallery will be scanned to make sure it is working and meets all of your rules, and finally it will be placed
in the database. The outcome of the submission will depend on how you have AutoGallery Pro configured.
If you have the thumbnail cropping feature enabled, the submitter will now be able to crop a thumbnail from the images on their
gallery or the image that they uploaded. Once they have cropped their thumbnail, AutoGallery Pro will do one of the other items listed below,
depending on how you have the software configured.
If you have the confirmation e-mail option enabled, an e-mail will be sent to the submitter. They will need to visit a URL contained in that
e-mail and enter the confirmation ID they were provided in order to confirm their submission. Once the gallery is confirmed, AutoGallery Pro will do
one of the other items listed below, depending on how you have the software configured.
If you have the auto-approve feature enabled or the gallery was submitted by a partner account that has auto-approve enabled, the gallery will
automatically be approved and placed in the database. The display date will be set to the following day, and you will not need to do anything
with the gallery. It will be eligible for display on your TGP on the following day.
If you do not have the auto-approve feature enabled, the gallery will be placed in the database and it's status will be set to pending. All pending
galleries must be a approved through the control panel before they can be displayed. You will need to login to the control panel and approve pending
galleries on a regular basis.
Submitting galleries through the control panel is very similar to the submit form, however you will have some different options. To submit a gallery
through the control panel, locate and click on the Submit a Gallery link in the Submitted Galleries section of the control panel menu. All of the
form fields are the same, except for the three additional.
Status - this is the status that you want assigned to the gallery
Display Date - if you select a status of approved, the display date is when the gallery will first be eligible for display
Once you have filled in the form fields how you want them, press the Add Gallery button. If you uploaded an image, you will have the option
to crop it after the gallery has been added. If you did not upload an image, you will have the option to crop an image from the gallery.
The manual submission form gives you greater control over what is submitted. Galleries submitted here are not checked against the blacklist,
so you can pretty much submit anything you want.
To manage the galleries in your database, locate and click on the Display Galleries link in the Submitted Galleries section of the control panel menu.
AutoGallery Pro will load a page where you can view, search, and manage all of your galleries. At the top of the page there will be a box which you can use to
control what galleries will be displayed.
A description of each of the marked items follows.
- If you want to search the galleries for a specific keyword, enter it here

- Select the database of galleries that you would like to view or search

- Approved - these are galleries that have been approved and are eligible for display on your TGP page
- Archive or Category - these are galleries that have been approved and archived

To approve new galleries you will first want to bring up all of the Pending galleries in your database. From the Display Galleries box at
the top of the page make sure that the Database field is set to Pending. Once you have the form filled in for the galleries you want to see,
press the Display Galleries button. AutoGallery Pro will load your pending galleries for you to view. You can then go through and examine
each gallery to see if you want to keep it for your TGP.
For galleries that you want to keep, edit the Status field and select the Approved option. For galleries that you want to reject, select the
Rejected option. For rejected galleries you can select to send an e-mail to the submitter with information on why it was rejected. That can
be selcted from the Reason for Rejection field. Once you have set the status for all of the galleries that you want to process, press the
Process Changes button.
For galleries that you are approving you have the option to change the Display setting. This setting tells AutoGallery Pro the first date when the gallery
is eligible for display on your TGP. It can be set to any date, past, present, or future. This allows you to approve galleries for many days in
advance, and AutoGallery Pro will only show them when that day has come.
The following items can be edited directly. Although you cannot see a traditional text editing field, they can all be edited as if they
are regular text fields.
URL - The gallery URL
Description - The gallery description
Name - The name/nickname of the submitter
Thumbs - The number of thumbs on the gallery
Display - The first date the gallery will be eligible for display
Category - The category of the gallery content
Status - The status of the gallery
After you have made changes to one or more galleries, you will need to press the Process Changes button. There is one located at both the top and bottom
of the page. If you do not press the Process Changes button, the updates you have made will not take effect.
Clicking on any of the green colored links will apply that value to every gallery on the current page. For example, if you want all of the galleries to
be in the same category, click on the green Category link and then press the Process Changes button.
To delete a gallery all you need to do is click on the delete link (J) for that gallery. A pop-up window will appear confirming the deletion. If you
are deleting an approved or archived gallery, you will also need to rebuild your TGP pages in order to remove it from them.
To delete multiple galleries at once, change the Status to either Deleted or Rejected. Once you have done this for all of the galleries that you want
to delete, press the Process Changes button. Tip:
You can also set one gallery's status to Deleted then click on the green Status link. This will
change the status of all the other galleries on the page to Deleted, and you can then press the Process Changes button to delete all of the galleries that
are currently being displayed.
Making a Submitted Gallery Permanent
Through the Display Galleries interface you can quickly and easily make a submitted gallery into a permanent gallery. Simply locate the gallery
that you want to make into a permanent gallery and then click on the [Permanent] link. You will be asked to confirm that this is what you want to do.
If you click Ok the gallery will be made into a permanent gallery.
When a submitted gallery is made into a permanent gallery the software will use some default values.
Start Date - The current day's date
Expire Date - 9999-12-12
Location - Both
The submitted gallery will not be removed, that will be up to you to decide if you want to delete it or keep it as a submitted gallery.
